Fisher F22 Metal Detector

The Fisher F22 is a weatherproof and waterproof metal detector. This particular device is used for detecting coins, jewelry, and other artifacts that are hidden underneath the soil, sand, or in shallow water. It can detect metals that are up to 9 inches deep and has a pinpoint mode that helps you track down the hidden treasures you’re looking for. There are 10 different sensitivity levels that can be adjusted based on where you’re searching and what you’re searching for. This particular metal detector comes at a mid-to-high price point.

Who is This Metal Detector for?

This product is for anyone who has an interest in metal detecting and treasure hunting. Because of the mid-to-high price point, this product is geared specifically toward people who take metal detecting a little more seriously than just a backyard hobby.

People who know where to look for artifacts, metals, and relics are more likely to get use out of this mid-range product. Someone who is looking for a metal detector that is perfect for family fun at the beach or for just a once-in-a-while hobby might want to consider looking for something at a lower price point.

How to Use Fisher F22 Metal Detector

The Fisher F22 requires some assembly straight out of the box. Thankfully, it comes with a detailed instruction manual to help get you set up. Once you have the metal detector put together, you’re ready to turn it on and start exploring your surroundings for metal, gold, or other hidden relics.

When you’re ready to go, press the power button to turn the device on. There should be a series of 10 numbers that sequence across the screen, which is just the serial number. Hit the “mode” button to switch modes. The first mode will be “demonstrate,” which allows you to test the device is working with several objects such as a nail, a silver coin, a gold ring, or a penny.

When you’re outside metal detecting, be aware that your device is designed with the following things in mind: ground minerals will create signals, as will metal objects you’re not looking to find, like nails. You will also want to eliminate any interferences from electromagnetic objects you might be carrying with you, like a cellphone.

When using the device, sweep the detector from side to side, keeping the search coil parallel to the ground. The motion of the search coil is required for there to be any detection.

Maybe you’re not looking to spend just over $200 on a metal detector for some weekend fun, or you’re looking for something cheaper that your kids can use. Here are some alternatives for cheaper price points.

Tacklife Metal Detector

The Tacklife Metal Detector is a cheaper alternative for beginners or hobbyists. It comes with a large LED display that is great for kids, as well as adults. It has a waterproof search coil, three audio tones, and high accuracy. This is perfect for families to take to the beach or just to explore their backyards with.

Bounty Hunter Gold Digger

Another alternative at a lower price point is the Gold Digger from Bounty Hunter. This particular metal detector is similar in price to the Tacklife detector mentioned above, and has a few great features that make it perfect for families or amateurs; this particular device includes headphones for private searches. There’s also a trash elimination mode that helps you make treasure hunting a more enjoyable experience.

All in all, this Fisher F22 Metal Detector review shows that it is a wonderful device for its price. It’s perfect for people who are more serious about treasure hunting without breaking the bank. If you’re not looking to spend that kind of money, hopefully, the alternatives listed will work better for you.
